Traditional Classroom

Registration Fee: $355
(price includes class and in-car instruction)
Registration deadline is one week before class starts.

The CIESC Driver Education program offers classroom sessions periodically throughout the school year. Classes will meet 2 hours and 30 minutes Monday - Thursday immediately after school for approximately 3 weeks at the high schools listed in the brochure and on the website. (Some schools meet on varied days. See individual school page for more information)

Each student is required to attend all 30 hours of in-class instruction. Any day (time) missed, is required to be made up. Missing 3 or more days will result in withdrawal of the class.

Students will receive the form (CDE) needed to get the Learner Permit, by email, upon enrollment. This form is required by the BMV before issuance of the permit. Students are now required to pass the state examined written test at the license branch before they will be issued their driver education learner permit. It is NOT recommended that students obtain the learner permit before the start of class. Attending this class will help the students prepare for the state examined written test.

After completing the class, but after obtaining the learner permit, each student will have 120 days to complete the 6 hours of in-car lessons. The instructor will work with your student's availability to create the driving schedule, including evenings and weekends if necessary. Please plan to make yourself available to the instructor in order to complete within this time frame. You must notify the office when you are ready to begin the in-car instruction. Please note that instruction does not begin immediately after class. The wait could extend up to 6 weeks.

If classes are cancelled due to insufficient numbers students may attend at any other school listed or move to a later session. (
There may be a transfer fee for all other reasons)

Please review both the Student's Rights and Student/Parent Responsibilities as they pertain to participating in the driver educaiton program.
